Maria Chakarova is a third-generation doctor that studied medicine at the Medical University City of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Having qualified as a doctor from University, Maria went on to carry out her residency in the Department of Dermatology and Venerology at the Military Medical Academy, Sofia between 2008 and 2012. She has been working as a consultant dermatologist in Bulgaria and Ireland as well as in England. She has extensive training in Practical Dermatology, Acne, Skin Cancers, Laser treatments, Scar improvement, as well as aesthetics treatments for anti-aging at a number of teaching hospitals and private clinics throughout Europe and the UK. Dr Chakarova currently works full-time for the NHS.
Maria is registered under the general register in General Medical Council as well as being registered in Ireland, Member of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology, Member of International Dermoscopy Society, Member of St. John’s Dermatological Society, Member of European Society for Lasers and Energy Based Devices, Member of Aesthetic Multispecialty Society Member of British Medical Association and Member of the Summer Academy for Practical Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine.
Maria is passionate about the provision of the highest quality of care to achieve the best outcomes for her patient and she is proud to devote her life to this. She has continuously looked for opportunities that would improve her skills and broaden her understanding of the dermatological field. She actively seeks out conferences and courses that will help to advise and treat her patients with the best possible care.
