All sorts of people in today’s world get regular sports massages… it is not just athletes that need the attention of a good massage therapist.
The world we live and work in can force us in to repetitive, sustained movements and positions, which results in specific muscles engaging for a sustained period of time. A prime example is desk-based work – we will often sit for 4, 5, 6 hours at a time without a seconds thought. Doing that several days a week, for some muscles, is like going to the gym and doing squats for the same length of time and then expecting the muscles to be able to carry you up the stairs after without any issues.
Sports massage is often used to recover from physical activity in order to prevent injury, this is particularly important if you struggle to stretch after exercising.
For the average person, we advise a regular massage every 4-6 weeks.
